If you wanted to put on a public speaking seminar or event, you can be rest assured that it isn’t as hard as you may think. There are some simple steps and suggestions that we will share with you here for free that will guarantee the success of your event and help to make your efforts more worth your while.

Why do we do it? The reasons are simple, to help others. Any other motives, like make a profit must be secondary, or people will be turned off by your approach and see through your motives, and whereas your sales pitch may be thick with promises, eventually truth always comes to the surface and you will will known for what your intensions are.

If you are selling something, place that on the back burner, and lead with a helping hand. If you are the speaker then skip the following steps, they are the ways to find a qualified speaker, assuming you are a qualified speaker.

Qualified Speakers: You don’t want to go through all of this trouble, the planning, securing the location, supplying food, entertainment, set up and clean up, just to have your speaker bomb and watch the dis-satisfied attendees walk out half way through the performance. So in order to keep them sitting and interested you need a speaker that is at least somewhat talented in carrying the message of the purpose behind your event. Without this your work will have not achieved its maximum potential to help others.

To find the best speaker you want to interview and review past performances either through a trusted witness of from recordings they may be able to provide. Without knowing this, you’re not sure if they’ll be able to provide the message in a way that will help to make your event a success. Since this is the star of the day, you need to take every available attempt to attain the mark during the preliminary review process, the rest will ultimately be up to God in the end whether or not the day comes off well. Most live events have a level of organic humanness to them that cannot be avoided, this is okay, be calm and accept and allow this to be.

Other things you’ll need.

Location: Secure your location. Pay in advance. Try to have a contract. (even with a church: I’ve have mu own church change a date on me at the last moment and had to cancel an event) Make sure it is central to your target attendants. Make certain it will hold your expected attendance.

Help: Enlist a group of helpers to assist in running the event. Have 10% more help than you need, more if its voluntary and not paid, you will have people not show up. Assign each person a specific duty. Deligate the work evenly, state that if someone is done, that they are to ask other servants if they need help with their assignments.

Refreshments: Deciding on the type and amount of food you have will be determined by the event itself. Always prepare for 15% more than you expect. If you don’t send RSVPs then maybe more. Have a charitable way of dispensing of the excess food in advance so you don’t through it away. Have times scheduled before the event so the servers can have everything ready at the specified times designated for eating.

Clean-up: always be sure to clean the place you were in as well as possible, this will increase your chances of being allowed to have another event at the same location should you decide to in the future.
